Scouting For Food

It's time once again for Pack 479's annual Scouting For Food Drive, Monday April 21st and Saturday April 26th. For this year it is a Webelos only program as we are combining it with the Webelos transition to Boy Scouts

This is a great service project for scouts and an easy way to earn a badge.   If you want to participate, please tell Julie Young by Saturday, April 19th.

Option 1:

Meet Boy Scout Troop 342 at Eden Prairie United Methodist Church on Scenic Heights Road on Monday, April 21 at 6:55.  You will work with your fellow Cub Scouts, as well as with these older scouts, to distribute bags door-to-door.  This task should take about one hour.

Option 2:

Meet Boy Scout Troop 342 at the remote Oak Point Parking Lot (the small one on Staring Lake Parkway) April 26 at 9:45 to pick up bags that have been filled with food.  Again, this shouldn't take too long.

Now that you're all Webelos, this opportunity is presented especially to you because you will earn service hours toward earning the Summit Achievement Award.  This award is presented after you are in Boy Scouts, but one of the requirements is to do at least 3 service hours with a Boy Scout Troop while you are in Webelos.
