Description

Coordinate and plan for the annual Pinewood Derby, typically held in January. This is a craft project that involves making a small car from a kit that includes a pine block and all necessary hardware. The cars are then judged for appearance and raced to find the speediest cars. Winners advance to a district-wide race.

• Participation at Working With Wood – car cutout station to guide parents and Scouts regarding official Derby Car rules.

• Coordinate and participate in Pinewood Derby Weigh-In.

• Coordinate track setup/breakdown for the Pinewood Derby.

• Secure laptop, Pack software, and projector for the track on race day.

• Direct Pinewood Derby volunteers during setup, the race, and track breakdown.

• Ensure the Gym is reserved several months in advance.
